Mountain Memory was completed in 2013 by sculpture Berry Bate.  The ridges represent Mt. Pisgah, Pinnacle and Sugarloaf Mountains while the rivers represent the French Broad, the Green and Big Hungry.  Somewhat controversial because it was completed at a cost of $183,284, the city of Hendersonville got to hold an ongoing debate on public art installations.  I personally like to see these large installations [...]

Little Pisgah Mountain

Little Pisgah Mountain is a place I go as often as I can.  Feels like a different world after a 4 mile private dirt road leads you to the top.  Adjacent to the more populous Bearwallow Mountain in the Fairview/Gerton area, I categorize it as both Hendersonville & Asheville because the County Lines and Eastern Continental Divide run the mountain ridge.  I suspect you'll see [...]

I've photographed this composition several times but like the infrared B&W image from this opportunity.  The Hickory Nut Gorge is visible within with the southern escarpment in the background.  Categorized as both Hendersonville & Asheville because the County Lines and Eastern Continental Divide run along Little Pisgah Mountain.

Dancing Bear Toys in Hendersonville is a local favorite, operating at 418 N. Main Street since 1997.  The original location started in Asheville in 1989 and the current location is at 518 Kenilworth Road.
