Photographed in September of 2018 on a trip up Frying Pan Lookout Tower. Milepost 409.6 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy hike and nice platform for a view.
Photo taken at milepost 408.6 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Fog rolling into the valley right after sunrise. Black Mountain, elevation 4,281 ft in Transylvania County. Took this in September of 2018 at the Pisgah Inn.
A similar composition to the other Art Loeb landscape shot, the shadows are a little less distracting. Black and white infrared photo.
Mountain Laurel macro taken on the Art Loeb Trail. Would have spent more time but the wind made it tough to get anything sharp.
Simple daylight shot at the Quilt Garden. Really should come back at a better time of day to photograph it again.
I've always liked the hardscape features at the Arboretum. The entrance plaza in front of the education center is a a great spot to start your tour.
Similar to the other compositions from Black Balsam Knob. The infrared works well to cut through the haze of a summer day.
Another composition from the Art Loeb Trail. Enjoyed a lot of images from Black Balsam section of the trail.
The Carolina Mountain Trail at the NC Arboretum. Nice walk through the forest on an overcast day. Fairly short hike but I think we got connected to another trail and extended the trip.
