Searching for stones at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Visiting old family graves I hadn't seen since I was a kid. 6 Generations back in Henderson County on the Jackson side of my family. After posting this photo on social media I had several people commenting on the age and origin of the tree. Hope to run that story down further.
Hot, humid day in Hendersonville after showing property. Pulled over to Mount Moriah Baptist Church and noticed this roadside scene. A quick walk across Gilliam Mountain Road for the black and white image.

The infrared black and white helps cut through the haze during the summer. Thought this composition was pretty good. The contrast between the trees and horizon line help frame the mountains.
Had a picnic on the Parkway with the wife to get outside and enjoy the day. Photos from June but just found them while playing catch up on the blog.
If the color isn't what I'm expecting at sunset I try to concentrate on black and white compositions. Roadside location around Lake Lure.
Photos of the Flowering Bridge at Lake Lure and the adjacent bridge on Memorial Hwy/Alt-74. Infrared black and white was better than the color images.
Easy to use the lawn lines at Biltmore as a dramatic foreground. The clouds help provide a resting space in this 1/3 - 2/3 composition.
I started close to the bench and kept working out to show off the lines in the walled garden. There is symmetry throughout the design on the property.
Sunsets are typically all about color but the dramatic sky can be good in black and white as well. Little Pisgah and the view towards the Black Mountains and Garren Creek.
