Bearwallow Baptist Church in Gerton, NC. Stopped by on the way down to Lake Lure from Little Pisgah. Black and white infrared photo.
Triple Falls in Dupont State Forest. Infrared black and white photo from the trail in Transylvania County. I've got fall color shots but haven't shared it in B&W before the previous trip.
Base of High Falls in Dupont State Forest. Black and white infrared of the 125 ft waterfall in Transylvania County.
High Falls in Dupont State Forest. Black and white infrared image from the trail in Transylvania County, right over the Henderson County line.
Went up to Little Pisgah to shoot but found the clouds settling in. I enjoy when the clouds create white out conditions but couldn't stay until they cleared.
Went up to Laurel Park on a lunch break to catch this nice scene. The rain was ending and the clouds were moving through. The dapple light made me focus on the fence and feeling rather than a wide perspective landscape.
I shoot from this location often so the clouds help shape the compositions. The cumulus clouds help create dramatic contrast with infrared black and white images.
This image reminds me of Bill Logan. When I was 16 i took a similar composition (nearly the same spot) he helped me develop in his darkroom. There were only a couple photos that got his attention so it stuck with me.
Looking towards the Black Mountains from Little Pisgah. Included in the range are Mt. Mitchell, Craggy Pinnacle and Greybeard but a couple of them are behind the clouds.
