Grew up beside this little lake in Laurel Park. I believe I took this in 2012 chasing fall color shots in the old neighborhood.
10 year anniversary since taking this photo in 2011. Favorite image from the day but always thought there were enough differences between the sunsets to share the others. Jump Off Rock in Laurel Park, NC.
Jump Off Rock on January 11th, 2011. I believe the combination of the lucky date and fact it just snowed forced me to go shoot. Very close to where I grew up so the location is a sentimental favorite.
Thomas Wolfe's Angel in the Oakdale Cemetery. Photographed years ago but re-edited to share on this blog. Shot around sunset I tried to use the cloud to create a 1/3 & 2/3 composition.
Taken in Dupont State Recreational Forest walking along the trail from Triple Falls to High Falls. Time lapse, fall color photo from around 2010.
Silver Lining at the Bad Fork Valley Overlook. Caught the directional light waiting on sunset at milepost 399.7 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Black and white infrared image.
My favorite of the forest fall color shots. The defined foreground helps it not appear as "busy" as #2. The mountains can still be seen from the Florence Nature Preserve in Gerton, NC.
Making my way down Little Pisgah Road, close to one of the trailheads in the Florence Nature Preserve. Black and white infrared images.
