The “Hot House” in the Biltmore Conservatory is one of 4 rooms in the 7,000 square foot structure. The Palm House, the Cool House and the Orchid House are the other distinct areas. Designed by Richard Morris Hunt who was also the architect of the home. George Vanderbilt & Frederick Law Olmsted created the original plant list for the estate’s collection.
