Although we were there a short time, it was a great trip! Hamanasi was a wonderful host as we celebrated my wife's birthday. Belize was an exciting destination, definite highlight at the Mayan sites. Photos from our last dinner with the group.
Plaza A at Cahal Pech. Previously posted similar images in black and white on January 5th but wanted to hold onto the color images as well.
Plaza B at Cahal Pech. I probably should have combined the 3 images into a single post but since it's not a location I'm likely to get back to, I don't mind sharing them individually.
Image of Plaza B at Cahal Pech. The known area at the site covers 10 miles and includes 34 structures but will be interesting to see what they discover with the new technologies. The Lidar scans in the area now are showing the Maya civilization to be much larger than previously known.

Cahal Pech was a smaller site but had fewer people when we arrived. At one moment I turned around and realized I was the only person walking around the courtyard in Plaza A. Also have very similar images in color that I'll post soon.
After leaving Xunantunich we went through the town of San Ignacio to Cahal Pech. A smaller site but fewer people as we explored the structures. Our guide, Hartfield was very helpful explaining the plazas at each site.
One of the highlights of the trip to Belize was the opportunity to visit mayan sites. The first location was Xunantunich, the "Lady of Sculpture" or Stone Lady. A couple photos for perspective, the structures were larger than I expected.
