Max Patch – Summit View

One of the few color shots I took while walking around Max Patch. Nice day in early March, still has the look of a winter landscape.
This is a combination of 2 shots on Max Patch. The haze was playing tricks with the auto focus so the exposure was bracketed to make sure it was sharp.
Stairway down to the parking lot from Max Patch. Easier to walk up the gradual hill and down the stairs. Short walk worth taking when you're in the area.
Good contrast on the trees below the mountains. Max Patch black and white infrared image.
Sometimes it feels like the trail is all uphill. Max Patch is not a bad little walk, don't take this photo too seriously. Lensbaby selective focus lens created the blurred effect.
Really enjoyed a couple shots with the trail and tree tops creating lines through the photos. Couldn't choose which I thought were the best so I'm sharing a variety.
Happy to see an older trail marker. The age of the Appalachian Trail doesn't always agree with the newer markers you see in heavy use areas. Max Patch Loop Trial.
Another view from the 360 Bald on Max Patch. It doesn't take much movement on the bald to change the photo. Really is a location you can plan time of day or go up and shoot what's best.
Max Patch is one of the Bald Mountains along the Tennessee and North Carolina Border. 360 degree views, easy to catch big skies here.
