Fitting to end the New York gallery with photos of Shelby today. We got married a couple years after this trip and today is our 4 year Anniversary. Always happy to spend time with my wife, travel companion and best friend.
The primary reason for the trip was to catch Derek Jeter playing at Yankee Stadium during his final season. Hadn't been to New York since I was 13 so it was a great excuse! Wild to think he's already been elected to the Hall of Fame, had a lot of great years celebrating the Captain.
I have additional images of One World Trade Center and the Manhattan skyline with better light. Shared this shot because it has very little vertical distortion when we got further away from the City.
The Flatiron Building at the bottom of the composition is 175 5th Avenue in New York. The glow from the traffic helps lead your eyes into the City and composition. Photo from the Empire State Building.
We tried to fit as many activities in as we could during our trip to NY in 2014. Went into the Bronx Zoo in the afternoon and this is the only image from the stop. Hot and tired is how I remember feeling, I guess this image sums it up pretty well...
The Grand Army Plaza at the Central Park entrance hosts the Sherman statue. Light caught my attention, took a couple quick shots before we took a ride through the park.
Great light on Manhattan in the morning. Some vertical distortion from the wide angle lens but made the choice to capture as much of the cityscape as I could.
