Built in 1890, the Sottile House has been part of the College of Charleston since 1964. The Victorian architecture previously housed female undergraduates before becoming administrative offices.
The Pier at Folly Beach. Living in Charleston, James Island and Folly Beach gave me an opportunity to photograph the shore quite a few times. Hope to catalog some of the better images here as the blog continues. This photo taken on a trip in September of 2018.
Massive cloud building behind the Shem Creek Inn. Sitting enjoying lunch at RB's enjoying the view. Photographed in September of 2018.
Went down to the dock and enjoyed the view of the Water's Edge Restaurant on Shem Creek. There are several great places to eat along the water with ever changing scenery.
Avenue of Oaks at Boone Hall Plantation. Planted in 1743, these live oaks create a dramatic approach to the home.
There is also a butterfly garden on Boone Hall Plantation if you're looking for an easy opportunity for photos. Didn't have much time to spend there but it was nice to walk through.
There are 8 slave cabins on the grounds of Boone Hall Plantation. They hold educational series on the Gullah culture and plantation history in Charleston and this property specifically.
Boone Hall Plantation in Mt Pleasant. Property established in 1681, we went during our visit to Charleston in September of 2018. Lucky capture as the tour had just gone inside and there wasn't anyone wandering around in the foreground.
