Old Gait Drive in the Crab Creek area. Taken before sunrise for even lighting, I passed this barn often on a daily drive and wanted to find a good shot to capture it.
Glacier National Park in 2003. Taken with Velvia slide film and a polarizing filter. It's been fun to go through some old images to catch up on the project.
One of the images from Grand Canyon National Park in 2003. Lucky to see both the North & South Rims. Shot on Velvia slide film with a polarizing filter led to saturated colors.
Late tour of the Empire State Building to check out the cityscape. The size of New York is impressive to experience and there is always a glow of activity.
I have additional images of One World Trade Center and the Manhattan skyline with better light. Shared this shot because it has very little vertical distortion when we got further away from the City.
Traveled to New York in 2014 for a few days in the City. One World Trade Center stands out against the Manhattan skyline. Obviously life is different today because of Covid-19 and the shutdown of the city. Can't wait for the energy to return to NYC and WNC for that matter.
Photo taken in the opposite direction of the sunset. Warm directional light on the sand and the cool tones of the water help bring interest. Driftwood to anchor the composition.
Arriving at Ile-a-Vache, a small island off the coast of Haiti. Children of the family that lived next to the Vacation Village where we stayed. Photos from this trip in Haiti taken in 2014.
I've always admired the building at the corner of Church Street and 7th Avenue. Following a renovation a few years ago it's now occupied by the Reformation Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, NC. Night exposure from a few years ago, playing with the traffic lights going by in the composition.
