My favorite new photos from 2020. I shot a lot of black and white landscapes and color macros. Spent more time on Little Pisgah Mountain. The trips planned were disrupted because of the pandemic. During the down time I started organizing older images. I’m looking forward to the return of road trips and unrestricted travel.
Another image further along the path. The contrast between the trees that haven't leafed out adds some interest. The winter/spring transition just beginning. Boat house at the Biltmore Estate.

Looking towards the Black Mountain range from the pasture on Little Pisgah. Got a lot of good shots in late January, was nice to spend a few hours outside with warmer weather.

Interesting image from the trail around Lake Powhatan. Started at the Hard Times Trail parking area but this area on the way to the beach provided a few fun images.
The pier at Lake Powhatan. Beautiful, warm day for January. Color image embedded is somewhat bleak but the black and white works just fine.
Image of Plaza B at Cahal Pech. The known area at the site covers 10 miles and includes 34 structures but will be interesting to see what they discover with the new technologies. The Lidar scans in the area now are showing the Maya civilization to be much larger than previously known.
Cahal Pech was a smaller site but had fewer people when we arrived. At one moment I turned around and realized I was the only person walking around the courtyard in Plaza A. Also have very similar images in color that I'll post soon.
