Best of 2020

My favorite new photos from 2020.  I shot a lot of black and white landscapes and color macros.  Spent more time on Little Pisgah Mountain.  The trips planned were disrupted because of the pandemic.  During the down time I started organizing older images.  I’m looking forward to the return of road trips and unrestricted travel.

Light Breaks Through – Little Pisgah

One of the things I consider before shooting sunrise is the weather.  Took an opportunity on March 18th to go up to Little Pisgah as the rain was finishing up.  The light broke through about 20 minutes after sunrise on the rock in the Hickory Nut Gorge.  The clouds began clearing quickly leading to nice directional light.

Image taken Friday, March 20th, 2020 on Little Pisgah.  Went up hopeful for a dramatic, colorful sunset but watched the rain roll through instead.  Great experience and peaceful just being there and enjoying nature.  Being at the top of the mountain I'm not sure if its technically Henderson or Buncombe County.  View in the photo is towards the Hickory Nut Gorge, Rutherford County and South [...]
